Turning Organics Into Energy

ACCEPTING ORGANIC MATERIALS: HOW IT WORKS?

RENEWABLE NATURAL GAS:

Renewable Natural Gas

TNRE continues to advocate for the development, deployment, and utilization of renewable natural gas to ensure there is a clean, domestic, renewable fuel and energy supply.

In the digestor, raw biogas is captured and converted into a near pure methane gas, which can then be injected into pipelines, and be used to displace conventional natural gas in virtually any application.

Renewable Natural Gas comes from organic material and organic waste (materials such as leaves, grass, agricultural crop residues, and food scraps) whereas conventional natural gas, or fossil source natural gas, is derived from tapping limited natural resources underground.

As a substitute for natural gas, RNG has many applications, for example: to de-carbonize the pipeline, in thermal applications, to generate electricity, for vehicle fuel.
