I am a community member in a city in California, how best can we get our Sanitation or Public Works Department to investigate if this is a solution for our city?

If you live in a city that self-hauls its waste, ask your city representatives their plan for increased food waste diversion? If you live in a city which contracts its waste collection services with a small or large hauler, ask about the contract terms and where that waste management companies plans to direct food and green waste.
